CQ the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net,
CQ the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net.
This is , my name is and I'll be your host tonight for this, the session of the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net

This is a directed net and I ask that all stations please follow the directions of Net Control.

The purpose of this net is to provide a source of information for the greater Winnebago County area. If you have information on Nets, Club functions, Special Events, Hamfests, For Sale or Want items, just about anything you feel might be of interest to area hams, please feel free to share it here. If you do have information you would like to share, please state that fact when you check in, and I will take your traffic before I do mine.

A strong secondary purpose of the net is to provide an opportunity for you to check out your equipment. If you would like a signal report, please state that fact when you check in.

We do not use a regular roll for this net. Instead we use an open format in which we take periodic breaks for check-ins. This gives me the opportunity to sharpen my skills as a net control operator, and, gives you real-life practice in checking into a net, similar to conditions we might have in an emergency.

You do not have to be a member of any Club, Group, Organization or Association in order to participate in the net. All Stations are welcome.

Now, at this time, please allow me to take a standby for any Emergency or priority traffic for the net. (pause and let the repeater reset… about 5 seconds)

Not hearing any, do we have any short-time or mobile stations for the net? (Another pause and let the repeater reset… about 5 seconds)

Okay, at this time we will take check-ins to the net. Any stations wishing to check into the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net, please call.

(You need to watch the time. Remember you must identify every 10 minutes! When I go to identify, this works for me…)
This is with the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net on the WX9MCS repeater.

When you finish the traffic (and pass it around for comments if you wish) you can give it one last call for check-ins. Then, if you are done, I wrap it up with a thank you and an invitation for people to come back next week. Mine is ad-lib.. but I'll try to give you an idea..

Well, that about wraps it up, I'll tie the ribbons on it at this time. I'd like to take a moment and say thank you to all the stations who checked in, especially those who brought traffic. I'd also like to thank those who listen, and invite you to check in next week. So, at this time, this is closing down this session of the Winnebago County ARES and Information Net and returning the frequency to regular amateur use. Thank you, and good night.
